Who is Bill Humphrey?
Bill is a Certified Peer Specialist with lived experience in recovery from mental health/substance use disorders. He is an outdoor educator with over 25 years of experience working with all ages.
Bill uses wellness practices, community involvement, and experiential education to enhance interpersonal connection, develop well-being and build self-will.
Bill offers a level of acceptance and understanding not often found in other professional relationships. He brings his own lived experience to assist others in realizing their inherent abilities, knowledge, resources and aspirations as waypoints towards recovery and a better life.
Bill creates “safe space” by listening without judgement and providing genuine acceptance. He validates and normalizes recovery experiences by using person-first language and prioritizing self-determination. Bill uses empowerment strategies to foster healthy relationships with others.
Bill is a Certified Peer Specialist in the state of Wisconsin, primarily serving in Lacrosse, Jackson and Monroe Counties. He is available to serve other counties by request.
